What’s Funny?

I looked at the Internet this morning to see if I could find anything that would bring a smile to my face. The pickings are not good, folks. Lot’s of Death and Destruction out there. A few cartoons, maybe. Sardonic at best. What about my bookcase?

Anything there?

I still have my copy of The Women in Black, by Madeleine St. John. She’s dead now, of course. But I suppose I could read that again.

Or I could take another look at Percival Everett’s Erasure, which was made into a rollickingly good movie: (“American Fiction”). I guess that’s the problem. Movies and cartoons have taken over.

But what about books? Funny Books?

Help me out here. Please send me the names of the book and author of a NEW funny book.

About skayoliver

The blog name "flaneuse" refers to my peripatetic lifestyle and the cultural gadfly nature of my posts. I've toyed with several other names: "I Beg to Differ" is one I like. Also "Walking Around." (But since half my year is spent in Phoenix, AZ, "hiking around" or "driving around" might be more accurate.) Anyway, I'm an ex-journalist, film reviewer and public relations specialist who is well-read, is a bit of a know-it-all and would like to communicate her observations, her critical reviews and her experiences of living in two very different cities: Portland, Oregon and Phoenix, Arizona. Welcome aboard!
